By Air

The Chamonix Valley is easily accessible with the nearest airport situated at Geneva, about an hours drive away. Geneva airport offers many scheduled and charter flights from the UK, including those provided by low cost airlines such as EasyJet, Jet2 and BMIBaby. There is also an airport at Chambery, about a 90 minute drive away.

      
         
  There are several airport transfer services but it is well worth hiring a car as the journey from the airport only takes about an hour. Chamonix and Les Houches have an excellent ski bus service however you may find it beneficial to have a car available. We advise you to hire from the Swiss side of Geneva airport as the cars from that side all have the "vignette" permitting you to drive on the Swiss motorway network, which is the quickest and most convenient way to access the airport.      
         
 

By Car

If you choose to drive from the UK, the journey using the French motorway system is about 550 miles from Calais and takes approximately 8 to 9 hours excluding stops.
